Twin CAs Are A Nightmare Come True (Me Being Emotional)

In my formal get-up for the last presentation of Semester 1. Which, let me just tell you, was an absolute catastrophe that had myself and a whole bunch of other people in tears.

First of all, let me explain the story behind the title of this post.

We have had two twinned CAs so far, the first being the Advertising/The Agency one, as well as the Mass Media Research/Consumer Psychology one that just took place on Wednesday, which was also the last day of school.

And I have had at least one nightmare about each of them, some so vivid and horrifying that I would be jolted out of my sleep, lying in bed breathless and faced with a huge sense of anxiety and dread.

Sounds like I'm exaggerating, but tragically this is all very real and you my friend, are about to find out why.

I will most probably remember the two months or so of working on the ADV/TA project as a personal hell on Earth, and for a whole plethora of reasons that are highly sensitive and not safe to be discussed here on the interwebz. But if you're a friend of mine from school, chances are you'd know what's up.

The thing with ADV/TA was that while the entire process of trying to do shit was absolute torture on the mind, body and soul, I personally felt that the actual presentation went pretty well and regardless of the grade, I am immensely proud of the work that (most of) my groupmates and I had put in.

So in a way, this incredibly sucky phase of my life ended on a high note, yes?

Which brings us to the MMR/CP CA.

Hoo boy.

First of all, the duration was much, MUCH shorter compared to the ADV/TA project, which was roughly six or so weeks (but felt something like nine whole years i am not even kidding). We only spent around less than a total of 14 days working on MMR/CP.

On the surface the project didn't seem that complicated, just really boring and tedious. Nothing that could be anywhere as difficult as doing a brand analysis and coming up with an entire marketing campaign proposal like we did in ADV/TA, right? Or so we thought.

Each of our consultations went fine and to be honest, I hardly ever had to worry about this particular group project, whereas during the ADV/TA project (which I was also the leader of, yay more stress), I was constantly fretting and panicking about every imaginable aspect of the CA.

Well, I wish I could say that the first semester of Year 2 came to a wonderful close with a great final presentation. Quite the contrary. It was a massive flop, especially so on my part.

I won't go into details, but although I know that the three lecturers in the grading panel are all such lovely human beings whom I do adore and respect very much and that it was their job to act incredibly strict with the students so as to train us for the real world and whatnot (and it was probably really hard for them too), but it was such a downright horrible experience.

We received plenty of warning from people who went in and presented before us, about how tough the presentation was going to be, which I am thankful for but looking back, it probably hindered my performance too.

I've become pretty confident of my presentation skills now, but during my turn to speak I was so rattled that I was positively shaking and I felt so miserable hearing my own meek and anxious voice.

As expected, the Question & Answer portion was nothing short of brutal and I knew not to take it personally but, just...the tone, the way I was being snapped at, it just made me feel so small and so stupid standing there in that spot being grilled by the three lecturers, you know?

It was a complete and utter mess, and honestly I felt quite numb after a certain point of time.

By then I had seen so many of my dearest friends and classmates breaking down in tears, shattered by criticism and launching into frenzied outbursts of rage. I never would've imagined witnessing these sights, ever.

We've all heard horror stories from our seniors of what the MMR/CP CA was notorious for, but I never thought it'd be this bad.

My heart was seriously ramming wildly against my chest the entire time and I felt so sick to my stomach, I didn't know what to do.

When it was finally over, we exited and I felt just the tiniest tinge of relief wash over me.

I thought I'd be happier that the whole ordeal was over, but strangely I wasn't. I guess I hadn't recovered yet.

Anyway, I was busy consoling people whom I 100% believe should not have been crying or even upset because honestly they had done such a terrific job. All my groupmates, in fact.

And in a bizarre turn of events, next thing I know I was crying like a lil bitch too.

I don't know, man. I honestly don't understand how it happened.

I sure as hell felt very upset, but if I knew that I was gonna unleash the waterworks I'd have ran to the nearest toilet and sobbed it out in private and away from my entire class, as well as any person who happened to be walking past the very public area in the T19 foyer.

But at the point in time it just wasn't within my control.

Hot tears came running down my face seemingly without any warning at all, I felt so embarrassed sobbing uncontrollably in front of so many people, trying to keep it together but also wanting to let it all out coz I felt so fucking awful.

I honestly screwed this project up, and for my groupmates too, who worked so hard.

Seriously, this is hands down the worst CA in my entire duration at SP so far, not a single doubt about it.

I really really appreciate the fact that my groupmates aren't too pissed about it, but honestly I just. Eugh.

I feel. So. Shit. About this whole thing.

Oh well. I do realize that there's nothing much we can do now.

Now that I've unleashed my thoughts and all the crappy emotions I've been experiencing regarding this matter over the past few days through the form of a very lengthy rambling, I just wanna completely forget about this whole shitstorm and, as with all the deeply unpleasant events that occur in my life, never entertain the thought of it ever again.

Let us now move on to happier things, finally.

Miss Clarice ordered Domino's for the class so we could have a little pizza party to bid the first semester of Year 2 farewell and good riddance!

(and yes that's The Hazim Faiz front and center with his wicked hairdo and nice arms, i know you ladies love going gaga over him so this one's for you!)

At first I thought it'd be kinda awkward for us since she was, after all, one of the lecturers on the firing squad, but at the end of the day she is just one of the sweetest little angels on the face of this Earth and she could never, ever in my opinion, play the role of a true villain.

Very thankful indeed for such an amazing lecturer and PT :)) ❤❤

It was really thoughtful of her to get us all this yummy food, and although I'd never look a gift (or in this case, free food) horse in the mouth, I was super appreciative of the fact that she got us Domino's instead of Canadian Pizza's 2-for-1 value pizza hahahaha.

Seriously though, no offence intended at all but Canadian Pizza is just the absolute worst. It does not deserve to even be called pizza. They are just...awful. So awful.

Anyways, all the food got snapped up pretty fast so I only got to nibble on one or two slices of the Pesto Grilled Chicken & Cherry Tomato pizza which I hovered over the entire time because it is just so gosh darn delicious haha. Gotta love pesto <3

I also managed to score a single Napolitana Baked Meatball, which were huge by the way, and obviously I went for the one with the most amount of heavenly melted cheese on top. It was delicious :')

Afterwards the Cool Bae gang headed to JEM (we sure do go there a lot...) for some Baskin Robbins coz we needed a treat after the highly painful ordeal that was MMR/CP. Also it was Wednesday which means FREE SCOOP DAY at BR's so that's a double YAY!! :D

I took a photo of the giant tub of Roses & Cream flavour (on the bottom, below Love Potion #31 which is also in a delectably sweet and pretty shade of pink) to make up for the lack of visual reference during the last post I did of my Baskin Robbins adventures.

Great news...I think that this flavour will be HERE TO STAY!!

Because they actually have a new flavour of the month (Fuji Apple, wow such exotic much cool, will try it someday), but Roses & Cream is still very much available so obviously I had to get it!

Here's a very artistic photo (even if i do say so myself...) of Benn, my thug owl companion for close to a year now, and my big scoop of Roses & Cream ice cream topped off with a *FREE* smaller scoop of Mint Choc Chip! Was craving for something fresh to balance out the rich creaminess of the Rose flavour hehe.

Très delicious, you can never go wrong with chilling with friends over ice cream. Haha get it? Chilling. Because ice cream is cold hahahaha. Ok moving on.

Took a picture of this ice cream cake because it is super adorable, (i mean just look at the tiny lil scoops of different flavoured ice cream!! amazing.) and because the gingerbread man really looks like the guy I'm currently mad crushing on HaHaHaHaHaHa.

Okay I really need to stop this thing where I develop crushes on guys whom I've hardly ever interacted with in real life and am too goddamn shy to even talk to them at all.

I seriously have no game.

Hoping that all feelings of infatuation will dissipate by the time school reopens in October, because frankly I think that there is like a 0.3% chance that anything will ever happen between us.

Group selfie with my MMR/CP group (ft. a wild Nerissa), whom are all such lovely ladies and I truly had a wonderful time working with them. I also feel that through weathering this shitstorm together, I've gotten closer to those whom I didn't use to know that well previously, so I'm really grateful for that.

I like how my face looks like it's melting off coz I was jumping up and down when the photo was taken lmao.

Very cool, very swag. I like it! James White is my hero.

Oh yeah, here's a photo of my droolworthy ham and cheese omelette my mum tabao-ed for me from HAN'S Cafe on Tuesday night, pretty much the only thing that kept me from drowning in a pool of my own tears because I spent the entire night working on MMR/CP, which resulted in a splitting headache and very serious contemplations of quitting school and becoming a stripper.

Their chips are pretty decent, too. Tasty batter and they were still good to go even after sitting out for several hours and getting fairly soggy.

I freaking love fries and chips. Potatoes pretty much rule my life.

Also I happen to be shovelling spoonfuls of creamy potato gratin into my mouth as I am typing this blog post so...yeah.

All dat gooey melted cheese though...Damnnnn.

And lastly, a photo with my beloved DMC 05 and the one and only Miss Clarice :))

I am seriously so grateful for this bunch of amazing people.

I feel immensely blessed for all the truly incredible friendships that have been fostered throughout this one and a half year, the awesome experiences that I've been fortunate enough to have each day, and the beautiful memories that I'm definitely gonna treasure deeply for the rest of my life.

Hoo my god I am starting to get real emotional here...

We are now at the halfway mark of our three year journey together and I hate feeling like this but...I really don't want the last day of school to come!!

Of course I want to graduate and move on to the next stage of my life and everything, but oh my goodness. Just the mere thought of the fact that we will inevitably have to go our separate ways, leave SP forever and start carving out our own lives, in which we may or may not be able to stay friends.

:( :( :(

However, realizing the fact that this is just a small fraction of my life which will undoubtedly pass, no matter how much I'd love to remain forever young and (relatively) carefree, drives me to make the most of each day I spend in SP even more.

I seriously love my school life. My friends, my class, my course, my lecturers. Although they may not be anywhere near perfect, I honestly couldn't ask for more.

I'm definitely gonna enjoy this much needed break where I'll be spending my days mostly sleeping like a pig then waking up and doing nothing, but I'm probably still gonna miss being in school.

Until then, I'll miss you awesome guys and gals, and I shall see you all in Semester 2 :))

Washokudokoro Waraku @ VivoCity

Howdly doodly, my fellow cowboys!

This is just going to be a short (ok maybe not really...) post of some legit drool-worthy Japanese food, which I was truly blessed to indulge in some time ago.

My family and I went to Washokudokoro Waraku (that was quite a mouthful...) at Vivocity for the first time.

Unfortunately we were there to have dinner a tad too late, so we couldn't really enjoy the experience fully as we had to gulp everything down pretty hastily. I hate the pressure of having to finish your food as fast as humanly possible because the restaurant staff are already cleaning around you and preparing to close up the place!! I hate even more having the workers not be able to finish their shift and go home on time because of me, I just feel so freaking guilty wtf.

Anyways, it's a lovely casual dining place that overlooks the gorgeous Harbourfront Bay, and it even has private rooms with tatami seating, very cool indeed. My mum originally requested for us to have our meals in one of the private rooms because we were seated next to this huge family which included four boisterous and annoying little kids, three of whom were boys.

I hate small boys, wtf. No offense but 9 out of 10 times they are annoying and naughty as fuck. I do plan on having a son (i got all my kids' names planned out and everything, fyi) so I am praying hard to the high heavens that my future kid would be one of those rare but oh so loveable boys who are really well-behaved and just downright angelic.

Okay back on topic, their table was hella loud and just awful throughout our meal. And we couldn't get the private room coz we would be required to spend a minimum of $300 (i think, can't remember exactly) to qualify. (!!!)

What the frickle frackle we ain't got that kind of money, we ain't kings and shit.

Other than that the food was absolutely amazing, so I shall stop rambling on about pointless doodads and head straight into the food pics now, which is what y'all are here for, don't lie.

Gotta love good Japanese cuisine :')

Prepare your eyeballs for the visual smorgasbord that is about to ensue!

Edamame peas, which I love love looove.

They're probably like the simplest dish ever, just plain ol' peas that are thrown into some boiling water, chucked into a bowl, then scattered with a pinch of salt.

Plus, how fun is it to pop each pea out of its pod with just a gentle push and squeeze?

I remember stuffing my face with entire bags of edamame peas back when I lived in Australia, and again a few years later when I was staying in Guangzhou for a period of time. It's like once I get into a edamame pea phase, I cannot stop. I'll just have them and nothing else for my three meals a day...

More Japanese appetisers that are all-time fan favourites! Agedashi Fried Tofu and Gyozas, I seriously do not know anybody in their right mind who would dislike these fantastic dishes.

Their Agedashi Tofu is the fluffy-skin version instead of the dryish, thin and paper-like kind like the ones from Sakae Sushi. Kind of hard to explain unless you've personally tried the two different types!

Both were pretty yumz, no complaints whatsoever :)

And the side dishes continue...Chawanmushi and Fried Chicken Karaage!

The chawanmushi (steamed egg) was silky smooth and delicious as it should be, with a hidden treasure tucked within...a small piece of grilled unagi(!!)

I love how each variation of chawanmushi contains different ingredients, the most common ones being a slice of Japanese fish cake and some slivers of mushroom.

My favourite would probably have to be just plain ol' meat chunks (i freaking love meat lol) as well as the fun little strings of "jelly" from the chawanmushi at Sakae Sushi, which is actuallyy supposed to be imitation sharks fin lmao.

This was definitely the first time I've had an unagi in my chawanmushi, and in case you were wondering, I did not try it because I was too scared that I might be allergic to it (like i am to most types of fish), and I wasn't willing to risk having my lips and throat swell up and itch uncontrollably when my epic meal had barely started!!

Moving on...

How bout some muthafookin' DRINKS to go with your swagtastic meal, monsieur~? (whut)

Usually my mum doesn't allow us to order drinks other than plain water which comes free of charge (boo) (but restaurant drinks are hella expensive tho, i get it), but my sister and I were battling a massive thirst so she kindly got us this delightful Matcha Float, hooray!

Essentially just a scoop of Matcha ice cream (which wasn't the best tbh, i've had way better) atop some plain soda water. Or was it Sprite? I think it's one of those Japanese carbonated sugary drinks but without the citrus flavours of Sprite/7-Up!

Anywho, it was pretty cool and did a nice job of quenching my thirst! Nothing super special, though.

And now, finally...The actual main meal dishes!

Round of applause, everybody. We have made it this far into the post! Yess!

Fried Chicken Ramen that my sister had. I think it's a miso broth if I'm not wrong? Anyway it's the creamy kind that I'm not a particularly huge fan of. Read on to see the ramen that I had, which I personally think is way more swaggy in comparison. Yes, I've saved the best for last. And yes, that was an ironic use of the word "swaggy". Ahem.

Here's the fabulous Grilled Saba (mackerel) Bento Set which my parents shared. Again, I am tragically allergic to fish hence I was unable to enjoy this dish, but can you please check out how adorable the little scoop of mashed potato salad looks?!

And now...the moment we've all been waiting for...

My mindblowingly delicious and amazing Shoyu Chashu Ramen!!

Clear shoyu (or chicken) (or miso) broth trumps creamy broth ANY DAY, in my opinion.

Bamboo shoots were super yummy, as they always are.

Chashu pieces were succulent and had the perfect balance of lean meat and fatty bits (the latter which i always just give to my mum anyway, lol).

Soft-boiled lava egg with runny yolk was as divine as you could possibly imagine. It was infused wonderfully with the flavour and aroma of shoyu, and I sent a snapchat of myself poking it delicately with my chopsticks and you could see the glory of the soft-boiled whites and the beautiful golden lava yolk flowing out, truly magnificent :')

And of course, you know your ramen is da real deal when it comes with a giant sheet of seaweed.

That was some good ass ramen.

Tears in my eyes right now, my goodness.

And with that, I bid thee farewell for now, and may you too be blessed with a marvellous bowl of ramen in your life some time soon.

Ciao, my loves~~

Sweet Week!

Good evening friends, I am here typing up a post while savouring a pint of creamy and delicious Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream from Ben & Jerry's (LOVE) in a bid to soothe myself from the crumbling anxiety I've been experiencing lately because this right here, is the weekend before D-day.

And by that, I mean the dreaded day of disastrous doom (you like that alliteration, dontcha?) that is the ADV/TA twin CA group presentation. A phrase that has haunted me for the past two or so months.

Seriously though, I highly doubt that I've ever had a CA that was this much of a depressing and tedious burden. It's like a gigantic downer that has made me hate every Wednesday and Thursday this term, and that is just sad.

The only good thing is that very soon, it will all be over. And I cannot wait to walk out of the presentation room with my group mates, triumphant. Elated. With a colossal weight off my shoulders.

Oh wait no I have my GenEd pitch on the very same day too, DANG IT.

*deep sigh*

Well, on to happier things, shall we?

Here are some random bitsies and doodles (wat) from my past week, which has been rather sweet indeed! And you shall see why, teehee!

After school sweet treat of the day: SOGURT!!

Yum yum, got Sogurt with ma girls Van, Ner, Sum and Rach after PR!

I got tiramisu (SCREAMS ❤), lychee, and mixed berries topped off with my usual faves, orange and lychee pops (they're little balls of juice encased in a thin skin that POPS! in your mouth with a satisfying spurt when you bite on it ever so slightly, very fun to eat hehehe), oreos, rainbow cereal (aka pretty and sugary heaven, they are my equivalent of drugs), almond slivers, crushed graham crackers, and cute little iced gem biscuits that just remind me, and I'm sure a whole lot of other people as well, of our wonderful childhood :))

All five of our Sogurt cups, guest starring Vanessa Lim's left knee.

The Star Vista branch is smaller and cozier than our usual JEM hangout but the decoration is so much cuter and sweet and girly!!

Oh yes I couldn't resist taking this very tourist-y shot of the marvellous architectural masterpiece that is The Star Vista.

Glad I got a nice clear shot too because I was really shy and self-conscious about the onlooking passerbys judging me and had to take this picture and run away to join my friends in about eight milliseconds.

Here is my nice iced Irish Creme latte I got from Manna Cafe after GenEd, as well as two little bowls of pasta salad so I could have something decent to munch on throughout PR class and not faint from hunger (and boredom).

Chronologically this photo would've appeared first but I didn't want it to appear at the top of this post as it is...not very visually appealing hahahaha.

Which is quite sad though, it looked reeeally pretty and completely Instagram-worthy when it was first served, with a more distinct brown-white coffee and milk gradient and a nice layer of dark brown Irish Creme syrup at the bottom, creating a delightful tri-layer visual. But, unfortunately the treacherous trip from T11 up to the hilltop (as well as climbing up all those gosh darn stairs) did a good job of shaking up my drink and jiggling its contents all about, creating a cup of boring brownness.

Still delicious though!

At night, I made the highly foolish and irresponsible decision of not going to bed early when I had the chance, but instead staying up late to watch beauty vlogs and doing my nails even though I had an 8AM class the next day.

Priorities, am I right?

Did this cute and summery watermelon manicure which I have to say I am really proud of. As I mentioned before in my previous post, I am absolutely rubbish at nail art and although you can see from the pictures above that the stripes and white line are pretty horribly butchered, from far it looks rather okay as a whole so I guess that's all that matters lololol.

The inspiration came to me really suddenly when I was rolling about in my bed just a few hours earlier contemplating whether or not I should jazz up my nails a little so I would actually stop biting them off every time they grew to a length that made them, well, biteable.

Yay pretty!

I spent a solid three or so hours on Youtube watching Jenn Im (whom y'all know I love and got the wonderful pleasure to meet), as well as a newly found vlogger who has managed to suck me in and make me click the 'subscribe' button almost immediately upon watching one of her videos, and that is Claire Marshall.

Seriously though she is so insanely beautiful and charismatic and just reeeally pleasant to watch, you know? Much like Jenn Im herself, but the two of them have very distinctly different styles that I can't quite put into words, but I just love watching their videos, my goodness.

In fact, after a whole night of watching Claire's vids I developed this HUGE urge to start creating vlogs myself, like I was REALLY pumped and kept thinking about it when I finally went to bed and planning in my head what my videos would look like, despite feeling super exhausted haha.

I slept at about 4+, full of regret lol. When morning came around, I knew that there was no way in hell I would be able to survive until the end of the day (aka about 6PM) on just two hours of sleep so I went back and snoozed for another couple of hours before waking up to go to my afternoon Mass Media Research class.

And that was because I've already gotten an attendance warning for that module and if I continued to miss anymore classes, I'd be in a whole lotta trouble lol.

Which brings us to,

Which marked the first day of me using my new fragrance...

Y'all know that I love all things holographic, so just the packaging of this perfume was enough to capture my heart.

And just when you thought it couldn't get much better than that...

Seriously, I am flailing with excitement here. A beautiful glass bottle encrusted with baby pink and powder blue jewels? Even the lid comes off as a whole chunky gem OH MY GOODNESS this delights my girly sense so freaking much, seriously.

I give the design a solid 10 out of 10, it is totally on point and just seeing it is enough to brighten up my day.

Anyway, the fragrance is Radiance by Britney Spears. I actually first came to know about it years ago when it came out in 2010. I remember seeing it a lot in my teenage magazine ads and thinking that it looked absolutely beautiful.

Sadly, that was way before my "perfume journey" started so I never thought of ever owning it.

You see, my mother has been super sensitive to perfumes her entire life, and thus forbade the family to use any strong fragrances.

That is, of course, until I discovered somewhere along the line that I am INSANELY in love with pleasant aromas of all kinds, to the point where they can alter my mood completely, soothing my soul and giving me so much joy.

I then started experimenting with perfumes (usually just using the tiny sample bottles that came free with my magazines every once in a blue moon), and it was actually my mum who bought me my very first set for my 18th birthday, and it was Marc Jacob's signature Daisy fragrance.

Still, she freaks out a little when I spray a tad too much and she does request for me to not stand too close to her until the smell wears off hahahaha.

Okay back on topic, Radiance is, according to its official website, a blend of "red berries, tuberose, delicate jasmine petals, orange blossom, iris, cashmere wood, amber and soft musk".

I don't know about you but that description of flavours alone is enough to send my head into a whirl.

Although I do pride myself on having a more sensitive nose and am better at detecting smells than most people, my nose is not yet discerning enough to pinpoint the exact flavours within a perfume.

I knew that I was drawn to this fragrance because of its notes of soft musk, which I absolutely adore, but I also wrongly believed that there were hints of vanilla too. Turns out, it was actually the creaminess of the tuberose. Oh well! It smells utterly amazing nonetheless.

Sadly, on the very first day of wearing it, while I was gleefully prancing around my living room getting ready to set off for school, my grandmother asked if I was sporting a different scent than what I usually wear. I excitedly told her yes, and was rather impressed by how quickly she noticed.

I did not, however, expect that she would then say, "Oh no wonder. Your previous one smelled so much better."

Anyway it's no surprise either, my previous scent (Flower by Kenzo, which sadly I am very close to finishing up... *sobs*) came at a significantly higher price and bore a noticeably fancier aroma.

In fact, I'd say that Radiance is a much "cheaper" smelling perfume, and I mean that in the kindest way possible. It's kind of reminiscent to hotel lobbies and fancy bathrooms, which may deter some people but I just so happen to love it :))

Alrighty enough about my beloved new fragrance (i just typed like a mini novel on it wtf)

At school, pretty much the whole class was getting DIY henna tattoos with Summer's cool ass henna tube thing (which was suuuper duper affordable btw, wtf i want like 10).

The designs all looked amazing and I was itching to get one myself but then again, I didn't want something that was even just temporarily permanent (is that even a thing?). What I mean is, I want to be able to remove it whenever I want because chances are, my fumbling fingers would probably create a huge mess and I am NOT about to walk around for the next couple of weeks or so with a hideous monstrosity stained onto my skin.

So I stuck to what I'm comfortable with, eyeliner tattoos! lol

My watermelon nails looking cute as ever, even if I do say so myself hahahahaha

My henna design is definitely one of those things that look intricate and pretty from a distance, but you get up close with the details you'd be like ugh dafuq is dis.

Also, I wanted a pretty little diamond on my finger but I messed up haha. I MESSED UP BIG TIME!!

In case you didn't know, I've kind of been obsessed with drawing "temporary tattoos" on myself (usually during classes where i'm bored out of my skull) with either eyeliner or a good pen. Most of the time it's on my wrist or the back of my hand, coz seriously where else can I put it lmao.

I'm thinking of doing a compilation post of all the designs I've done so far but in the meantime, you can check out my previous works and get updated on future ones by following me on Instagram. Woohoo, shameless self-promotion segue lol~~

After school sweet treat of the day: ARTEASE!!

Being one of the absolute most darling lecturers ever, Miss Clarice suggested going for Artease with Van and Ner after MMR class so she could finally try out their salted caramel milk tea (she was so excited too, awwww how cute can she get!!) and obviously I had to be a butt and ask if I could join in too hahaha.

Our drinks! Including Summa's~~

I got myself, a ummm...hazelnut earl grey milk tea I think hahaha. Can't even remember it, it was so many days ago and truth be told, it wasn't that good :\

Oh yes I topped up to have aiyu jelly too, which was pretty bleh as well. I just like to have some form of jelly or pudding (yay pudding) to munch on while I'm slurping up my delicious milk tea. NO TAPIOCA BALLS/PEARLS/BUBBLES THOUGH. I used to love them as a child all the way through my early teenhood until I discovered one day during the peak of my bubble tea addiction phase (i literally walked like five blocks from my school every day for weeks on end just to get my daily fix after class, then have to take an extra long bus ride home. worth it though!!) that they were THE DEVIL and although fun to chew on, are totally NOT worth the insane calories.

Okay rant about bubble tea toppings is over.

Miss Clarice and us girls had a splendid time chatting about everything under the sun. She was awesome as usual and checked up on whether we were all doing okay with each of our modules, asked about our future plans, talked about random funny shit with us lol, and I don't seem to recall how it led to it, but at one point we started showing each other old photos of ourself which was super fun hahahaha.

I love seeing my poly friends in their secondary school days, cute nerdy uniform and all.

Miss Clarice showed us pics of her back when she was in uni, she was so freaking adorable I can't even. Still is, but in a different way, ya know?

And I showed everyone photos taken during my extreme fat and fugly phase (which i like to keep in my phone and bring around with me as motivation LOL) and it suddenly dawned on me why I used to be bullied quite severely hahaha.

Anyways yes, three cheers for Miss Clarice! She is the bomb diggity like forrealz tho, she's always taking time out to just chill and get to know her students better, and I can really sense that she genuinely cares about what's going on in each of our lives.

She the cooliest <3

I am starting to realise how unnecessarily long this post is getting (initially thought it was just gonna be a collection of desserts and sweet drinks photos, but i somehow felt the need to write a large chunk of irrelevant text at every single juncture we are) so I'm gonna try and be very chop-chop-go-go-gadget-let's-get-to-the-point from here on out.

After school sweet treat of the day: BASKIN ROBBINS!!

I got myself Pistachio Almond, which you can see is a gorgeous, highly saturated shade of aqua green, and Tiramisu, which is probably one of my all-time favourite desserts as well as ice cream flavours!

I love Baskin Robbins because their ice cream is always chock full of extra ingredients. There were heaps and heaps of whole roasted almonds in the pistachio ice cream, so much so that every scoopful that went into my mouth had at least one whole nut (!), and my tiramisu ice cream was swirled through with plenty of coffee sauce and tiramisu cake crumbles soaked in espresso!

Good quality, creamy ice cream in adorable colours just makes life so much more worth living, especially the craptastic day we'd just spent doing ADV/TA for hours on end.

Also, can I just say that their new Flavour of the Month, Roses & Cream, is the most heavenly thing that has landed on my tongue and swirled around in a delightful cascade of flavours.

It tastes strongly of roses, or bandung, which of course I love, and just has such a pretty and dainty aroma and taste to it! Definitely gonna get myself a cup of it soon before the month ends. Or four or five hahaha.

Vanessa and Summer's ice creams. I think they both got Roses, wise choice haha. As you can see, it's powder pink and white coloured, almost as lovely to look at as it is to eat!

After our delicious creamy frozen treats, we continued chilling at Baskin Robins and playing Pictionary/Guess The Random Drawing on my lil notebook (which i use more for doodling in class when i'm bored than taking down notes...oops).

It was so much fun and the drawings and guesses were hilarious hahaha ("carton of eggs" LOL).

I thought it was pretty cool to how each of us took a page to draw on, and when you looked at the three pages individually you could definitely point out clear differences between each one of our drawing styles, and even things like how we distribute the space. For example, Summer and I were just using random spots around the page and filling it up quite messily, but when it was Vanessa's turn she was all neat and systematic about it, keeping her drawings close together and filling up the page row by row.

I don't know, this sort of thing seems super cool to me. Like it's a reflection of our personalities or something hahaha.

Ok, rambling over. On to...

After school sweet treat of the day: STARBUCKS!!

It was the start of Starbucks' special 49th National Day Promo, $4.90 for a Tiramisu or Strawberry Cheesecake Frappe as long as you get two at the same time! :O :O *screaming*

Cool Bae Gang all got the Strawberry Cheesecake haha. Gosh we are like a little gaggle of white girls...But Starbucks is just so good!!

And I hadn't had my Starbucks fix for like, several weeks. Which kinda made me feel really stressed haha, as weird as it sounds. I think Starbucks is kind of like a little stress reliever or a treat for me when I've been doing lots of hard work. So to not have it in my life so long just felt...bleugh.

And yes I know I said I love Tirasmisu like crazy but I just had it in ice cream form the previous day so I was craving something a little more light and not so chocolatey and heavy the next day!

The barista gave my cup a pathetic amount of Strawberry syrup swirl...Seriously though have you ever seen such a plain and white frappucino?!

Oh well, still tasted pretty good haha

And finally, we have arrived for...

Okay initially I thought this wasn't going to be a fully "sweet week", because I left to go home immediately after class on Friday without getting anything, well, sweet! We were planning on getting Llaollao, but Vanehha didn't want to walk all the way to FC3 lol.

But, as it turns out, when I was walking to the train station I noticed that the new tea and desserts shop had just been newly opened!

I walked over to check out their menu, not really planning on getting anything that day especially since I was just about to hop on the train which means I wouldn't be able to eat or drink anything, unless I wanna get fined.

That was until my eyes caught a three-word phrase on the menu that made me so excited I almost jumped right out of my skin.

And so,

After school sweet treat of the day: THAI MILK TEA!!

Ohh sorry, saying those three words made me shiver a little bit with glee, wow.

Anyway, yes. I bought it, and to make it even better, I got mine with egg pudding. EGG PUDDING!! MILK TEA + PUDDING?!! I LOVE THE UNIVERSE.

Okay I quickly dashed home so I could stick the fat straw through it and savour it for the first time, but I gotta say. I was pretty disappointed with the shop coz they already failed the first test with me; a bit of the milk tea leaked out into the plastic bag :((

How does that even happen?! Isn't the cup sealed with a freaking plastic lid?? Jeez. Very annoyed haha.

But anyways, the most important thing of course was, the taste.

And let me just say, it was so good. SO GOOD!!

Not amazing to the point where I would shed tears at the mere thought of it (lol), but definitely enough to make me wanna go back again and again for the rest of my duration at SP.

As you can see, it's rather orange which makes me suspect if they put in artificial colouring...Which would be completely unnecessary coz who in their right mind would find this weird orange coloured beverage appealing. I'd rather have an all-natural drink that's muddy brown or whatever colour it is in its original state.

And yes, I had to remove my watermelon nails because I thought we were doing a full-dress rehearsal shoot for RTPM and I wanted to have continuity for my character haha.

But I gave myself a new manicure by the end of the night LOL. Pink and yellow gradient, woohoo~~

And that's the adorable business card for Tea Tozz (no idea why it's called that, what the hell is a tozz).

So excited to go try out all their yummy drinks (they have Vietnamese coffee, ermahgerddd) as well as their desserts and snacks (THEY SELL WAFFLE STICKS. WAFFLES. IN STICK FORM!!).

Please chalk it up into the list of reasons why I freaking love my school

Update: Llaollao, Nails, Ape Tits

Yo waddup~~

Apparently I'm feeling extra productive and am here typing up a new post within 72 hours of my previous one, yay for that! Hopefully this counts towards making up for the freaking 1-month dry spell where I completely abandoned my blog lol.

I've had a pretty chill weekend so far, and boy am I glad because this is pretty much the first weekend since the start of school that I can actually kick back, relax, and not spend the entire time freaking out about the huge super important project assignment(s) that is/are due the moment Monday rolls around.

Seriously though, it's gotten to a point where I literally can't spend a waking minute in peace because no matter what I'm doing, be it taking some time out to surf the net or going out to have dinner with my family, there's always a nagging sense of panic and dread at the back of my head because I'm not currently working on finishing my assignment.

God, I hate that feeling so much.

And the worst part is, I've come to find that I personally am not able to start on a task unless the feeling of OH SHIT I LITERALLY HAVE LIKE A FEW HOURS LEFT TO DO IT ALL AND THAT'S IF I DON'T SLEEP TONIGHT kicks in.

Every one of my projects have been done at the last minute. Every. Single. One.

I suck. I totally suck. >.<

Anyway, yesterday was pretty awesome coz I got up and basically spent the day being a lazy turd. There was a part of the day where I actually proceeded to just lay in my bed in the afternoon for almost three hours playing phone games and listening to 987FM because my baby girl Azra got to be on the radio for a while, live auditioning to be a DJ! So proud of her aww <3 And she gave our class (and her mum hehe) a shoutout on the airwaves, so that was pretty freaking cool.

I was very surprised at the great sound quality of listening to the radio on my phone, I should start doing that more often.

Later in the evening I went out with the fam to have dinner, which was mindblowingly good. We had Japanese, and like, quality Japanese, not the crappy chain restaurants kind (hello, Ajisen ramen). Will be blogging about that soon!

Meanwhile, here are some random photo updates from a while back!

A couple weeks ago I went to try Llaollao for the first time with the Cool Bae gang (Ner, Van, and Sum).

I'd been wanting to try it for a really long time but honestly I wasn't game for joining in the mad queues when it first opened on campus.

Prior to their opening in SP, I'd never even heard of this shop but apparently they're quite popular among the youth crowd? I'd actually never even seen one of their stores before, and never knew they existed but they have like five outlets, situated at teen hangouts like Somerset and Plaza Singapura.

Um. Why is it that I've never seen them before lol.

They're essentially a ~*healthy*~ frozen yogurt stall that offers lots of customisations of different toppings, but unlike most froyo shops nowadays, it's not a DIY thing. Which is good because I always go overboard and pump out like 500g of yogurt and end up having to pay like $12 for a cup of dessert lmao.

Upon first taste, I realized that their yogurt tastes kinda different from say, the ones from Sogurt or Swirl@rt or Yami Yogurt. It was a lot denser, noticeably less sweet, and had a much tangier aftertaste.

Someone (i forgot who) told me that they actually use Greek yogurt, but I've just found out from Llaollao's website that their yogurt is actually made from skim milk instead. And, their website even claims that theirs is THE REAL frozen yogurt, and that all the other competitor froyo brands (like the ones i mentioned in the previous paragraph), are actually YOGURT ICE CREAMS and not froyo at all! No wonder they all taste so sweet and ice cream-y! Cool stuff!

I got myself the traditional Sanum yogurt, which was the most reasonably priced item on the menu and also seemed the most fun lol. It's essentially a cup of froyo parfait, where you get to choose three different types of fresh fruits, a crunchy topping, and a sauce! They then craft your fully customised creation by layering it with the delicious yogurt and making it all look really pretty.

The ordering process is fun as hell, I'm gonna take you through it now and I'm so excited just to be writing about it, it's really quite sad lol.

So basically the girl takes your order and in my case, it's the Sanum, so she grabs the cup thingy and pumps in the yogurt base. Now, this is where it gets interesting...CHOOSING OF TOPPINGS!! :D :D :D

First up, we got some yummeh fresh fruits!

I got peaches, which was exciting for me because I hardly ever eat peaches (except those sweet and delicious but very unhealthy ones that come in cans with the syrup), strawberries because you can never go wrong with those, and bananas, because they make you feel happy and happiness is always welcome in my life teehee~ ^^

Next, the really fun part, you get to pick your crunch!

The selection makes me very very excited...and totally spoiled for choice! I was gonna go with the Oreos because forreal though, froyo + Oreos is a match made in heaven. They ALWAYS taste so good together! But I decided to try out the caramelized cookies instead and boy, am I glad! They tasted so good I almost cried :')

At this point they'll pump another delectable layer of yogurt into your cup, complete with a pretty swirl~~

And last but not least, choose the sauce to top off your delicious froyo parfait with!

As you can see, their sauces pretty much all sound super exotic and interesting. Was a bit confused as to what raffaello sauce was at first, but then I realized that word sounds kinda familiar...and then I remembered!

Ferrero Raffaello!

So basically it tastes just like how the chocolate confection does; white chocolate-y, strong coconut flavours and a hint of almond nuttiness!

Was originally planning on getting candy milk coz that sounds so sweet and lovely, but then I walked to the end of the counter and saw that...THEY HAD RUM & RAISIN SAUCE.

I cannot stress how much I FREAKING LOVE RUM & RAISIN!!!!!!!!!!

Back in the good ol' days Swensens had Rum & Raisin flavoured ice cream and that shit was THE BOMB. Had it back when I was like a little kid lol (up until i was like, 13 years old i think) but then some doofus decided to pull it off the menu because *NO ALCOHOL* ugh what a party pooper and now it's replaced with this weird ass flavour called...yummy raisin.

Ok then.

Anyways yeah, I freakin' love me some yummy rum & raisins so I was mentally doing kicks and flips in the air as the Llaollao girl ladled some of that delectable sauce alllllll over my yummy froyo concoction.

And there you have it, a mini tower of yummy goodness. Very photogenic too, I'd say. Look at that little mashup of colourful fruits and crumbled caramel cookie grains peeking out. Beautiful.

And yes, the spoon is hella tall lol.

The rum & raisin sauce was as delicious as I'd imagined it to be. The only grudge I had was that it was way too sweet. It's the kind of sweetness that sort of paralyses your tongue and has you reaching out for a gulp of plain water, or five, after every mouthful of diabetes-causing sugar overload you have.

With that being said, it was balanced out almost perfectly when combined with the froyo because the plain yogurt in itself is actually quite bland tasting.

The fruits were really yummy (but also hella sweet...), and I simply LOVE the caramelized cookies! The crumbled grainy texture goes so well with the smooth and creamy froyo, and I swear I would kill to find out what cookies they used because they seriously taste AMAZING.

All in all, it was lovely to pick out my own ingredients and see how pretty it all looked before digging in, but I don't think I'd be getting it on a regular basis coz $5.90 for this medium cup of yogurt is a bit steep...

It did, however, fill me right up and I was feeling soooo full (and kinda bloated actually...) when I finished just this cup of dessert!

I'll probably head back there some time because I really wanna try out the other ingredient and topping combinations lol, especially the super interesting sounding ones like candy milk!! And the almond crocanti crunch! Why are all the names so cool?!

Freaking Llaollao drawing me in with their super fun and unique ingredient customizations...dang it!

Oh here's a pic of their long and...dangerously sharp spoon thingy. It's not even shaped like a proper spoon wtf. And yes my froyo melted into yogurt soup within minutes because it was a hot hot day and...I ended up taking like eight photos at various angles before actually having my first bite hahahaha.

It still tasted great in liquid form, though!

Here are my cupcake nails which I did during the school holidays, when I actually had the luxury of time. *sobs*

I know it's nowhere near perfect and my fingernails and nail beds are in a horrendous state, but I must say that I'm really proud of it coz I'm seriously complete rubbish when it comes to nail art, despite having so much interest in it and having tried at least 10 times in the past year to accomplish at least a decent looking design.

This is probably my most successful nail art manicure to date, and I was obsessed with staring at it nonstop when it was still on my fingers! I even did it a lot in public, just laid my hands out in front of me and stared intently at them, slowly rotating them and looking at my work of art at varying angles and distances. I got quite a few peculiar glares from people...

Can I also just say that I'm really proud of the candy stripes because I honestly cannot draw straight and even lines on my nails FOR SHIT, and I messed up so many times and had to rub it all off and start from square one.

It was highly frustrating and yes, the stripes that you see in the picture are nowhere near perfect, but I am pretty darn pleased with them, even if I do say so myself.

Last but not least, here's something that made me chuckle a few days back when I was feeling completely shitty and miserable:

I love a good laugh :')
