HUAT AH!: chye seng huat hardware cafe.

Back at it again with the stunning visual concept and exceptional culinary works of art <3

The steps leading up to this fine ass food establishment always has me quivering with excitement :D

teehee lol

Thomas' smoked salmon concoction. Oh yes, we snagged some outdoor seats this time and the sunny atmosphere was spectacular indeed! The sweltering heat, however, was not.

Also, there was a jolly little butterfly flapping around the plants next to our table hoping to make our acquaintance. But Joyce and I just yelped in fear like lil bitches™ every time it entered our vicinity.

too much ~*NATURE*~ lol  abort, abort!!1

Joyce had herself this sweet treat of towering toast and jammy fruit components alongside a colossal dollop of vanilla ice cream. The koala-tea (ha ha "panda coffee") kind with visible vanilla specks. Fancy~!

I caved and ordered the breakfast platter again, coz it's just too darn good. Pity they overcooked mah scrambled eggs this time, though :\

Bad eggs = A Bad Time

To end off, here are some shots of their ridiculously sexy pastry display space:

It's actually infuriating how much I want to gobble everything down as if money and calories weren't a factor of consideration xoxo

How dare you look so tantalising!!!!!!

Giddy up, cowboys (lol whut). It's time for yet another post of just food pics! w0w0w0w so exciting, quality content right hurr sia

Went to some CBD bagel place at Tanjong Pagar with Thomas. First time in my gosh darn life I had bagels, and they tasted amaaazing. Mine was like cinnamon raisin with a maple cream cheese spread or some shit. Fucking phenomenal coz I love cinnamon and I LOVE maple syrup, what a perfect combo.

Thomas' was some glorious meaty mayhem that looked super filling and probably tasted bombbb.

I forgot the name of the bagel store but all the dudes who worked there look fineeeee as hell lol IM SERIOUS. I legit got up mid-meal and changed seats so I could get a better view of cutie workin the cashier, like daaaamn <3

Haven't gone back since then but yeah. I'm tryna smash lol

Solo lunch at Han's, one of my all-time favourite fuss-free eateries hehe

I'm a slut for omelettes (why cant i just say "i like omelettes" like a normal person tbh) and I always get this ham and cheese one. They are VERY generous with the fillings, resulting in this orgasmic, ooey gooey creation right here,

Holy fuckeroni. How good does that look?? As a cheese lover I just wanna SLURP IT ALL UP. FUCK!!!!!!

Oh yeah their chips are superb, too. Super flavourful, crunch game str0nk. Bellisimo, really.

This is just some lasagna, wasn't mind-blowing or anything but the sunlight made for a pretty spectacular photo (if i do say so mah self teeHEE) so yeah.

Here we go, more pics from that cafe:

"Tippuccino"!! HAHA lol so cute sia. Coffee puns all

This is Shrove Tuesday, btw. A.k.a the cafe at which A Latte Love was filmed. Holy shit, that was a pretty iconic period of my youth. Funny how you do random stuff day by day but when you look back upon it years later on, it's like. Golly~! That was truly special indeed.

thanks to your parting words to me, my life went into a Total Blackout.

"i open my notebook.
letter by letter, the name i wrote down,
as if with my own blood."

"let me ask you one thing:
Did you try your best?

No answer.
it's like an interrogation."

"No Love.
i'll let you go without feeling anything myself.
i'll burn your everything.
i know it'll be hard for me...

but not anymore."

"No Love.
i'll let you go, far away.
i've got you burning, up in flames.
you're burning up, without a single regret."

"slowly, Burn."

The chilling oriental instrumental music...heart-thumping beat that goes hard asf. The powerful yet emotional and sincere rapping, Jessi (my love ❤)'s soulful crooning; BEAUTIFULLY heartfelt lyrics that are as moving in their native Korean as well as when translated. The dance moves, the outfits, the cinematography and this entire aesthetic overall.

Isn't it just, art?

so good and so #flawless it makes my ass throb tbh L0L  ok bye

The Unimaginable.

Yet another Facebook Memories status adaptation lol, y'all know the drill!

Shit. It's been two whole fucking years since my unofficial TSL initiation??

On top of getting to take this fangirl shot with Hirzi, I distinctly remember the nervous conversations I had with some of the "Youtube celebrities" I loved watching so much.

Sitting on the wooden bench and asking Joyce eager intern FAQs like, "What's a typical day of work like for writers?", "How long do you usually give us to finish drafting one article?". Also, gushing over how she used to be an SIA stewardess lol bitch i was ~*stARSTRUCK*~

And this one's the ultimate kicker lol. When I awkwardly got up and shuffled over to Fauzi to say, "i think i'm gonna leave first" [insert awkward smile coz i was too awkward to make my departure like a normal human but also too awkward to stick around with the rest of the gang], he handed me enough money for myself and Hirzi to take the boat from Ubin Island back to the terminal. And when I was like, "no no Fauzi i can pay for myself!", his words: "It's not from me, it's from the company. Bring our guest back! This is your first assignment as a TSL intern."

Kinda surprised I still remember those moments to this day haha

But even more in awe, and eternally thankful, that these people have somehow become irreplaceable figures in my life. Treasured friends and confidantes to whom I've bared parts of my soul I never would've imagined as just another final year media student in polytechnic binge-watching episodes of Singaporeans Try and fantasizing about how crazy it would be if I gave it a shot and actually got to try working at my dream company.

Life, man. fucking crazy lol

Past FB status blog entries:

-Valentine's Day emo edition
-Breakup recovery & friendship pressures emo edition

Fucking emo all the time. I'm glad at least this post's a happy and triumphant one lol. Also rather magical too, if I might add!

Never underestimate the possibility of your wildest dreams coming true

Fremantle Fun Timez: Part (2/2)

Was hit by a bit of a nostalgia wave which engulfed me in ~*Perth vibeZ*~ so yeah, please enjoy the continuation of this post, of events that transpired almost a full year ago! :-D

such blogging efficiency much timeliness

very w0w

Bought some honey cakes from Fremantle Market thanks to this teensy sample which alluded to how MADDENINGLY delicious the baked goodies were. I still have sweet dreamz about it sometimes :')

Apparently Twelve Cupcakes (bakery chain in Singapore that seems to be literally everywhere) has started selling their own rendition. I wonder if it tastes anywhere as lovely!

Badass bookstore. It was super old-school and vintage!

Entire backpacks fashioned to look like big ass, colourful ass sneakers. Cute!

As the sun made its descent for the day, it was just a foot journey from the marketplace to the pier. Brace yourself for a stream of random photos taken along the way!

Dat sky doe. Hot diggity DOG.

Joe's Fish Shack and Cicerello's;

How many tens of thousands of Singaporeans do you reckon have visited these typical tourist destinations by the throng? lol

To end off this post,

the yummy honey cake (and honey cheesecake! god, DAMN it i love honey ♡) that ended a wonderful evening by filling my tum-tum up with some saccharine munchies.

Good night! :)

Here is another instalment of Food Pics I Done Taken & Words I Done Tippy-Typed Out About 'Em.

Shoyu aburi salmon sushi.

Lovely flavour from the soy sauce glaze, and I appreciate those tiny slivers of red chilli so much! Provides a sizeable spice explosion in yo mouth without getting too crazy. Paired with wasabi? Hoooo boy. There's like, LEVELS to the flames. So complex. So delicious.

When I was a lil kid, I only ever ate buns from neighbourhood bakeries or BreadTalk. One day when I was about seven or so, my family brought me to Liang Court and I visited Four Leaves Bakery for the first time. Had one of these babies and it legit BLEW my underdeveloped childhood mind lol, no joke.

Super creamy, the ham gives it lotsa savouriness and the mushroom bits were chewy. Onion chunks and chopped herbs packed the sauce with SO much flavour I actually had to hold back tears. Glazed bun was sweet and bouncy, too.

I mean, if I remember it from over a fucking decade ago, it must be somethin' else right? Huehue

Was not kidding when I said Saizeriya is my go-to for cheap and good eatz.

This here is a platter of pork slivers, chicken parm with brown sauce, potato wedges and good ol' boiled corn kernels.

For less than 9 bucks.

What in the fuck

I didn't get to eat any of this but I walked by the display and my jaw just about fell to the gotDAMN ground.

How gorgeous are those mounds of meringue??

I need to work extra hard to make sure Future Me can afford the $*luxury*$ of eating whipped egg whites tinged with sugar and dyed into pastel hues xoxo

china 快餐。

kuaì cān

Literally translates to "speedy meal".

I spent the last few days of 2016 in Guangzhou, and lemme just tell y'all that eating fast food in China (other than the major international brands like McDonald's and KFC) was a bit of a trip in itself.

Did you know that on top of the usual deep-fried goodies like nuggets, chicken wings and french fries,

You could also dig into a piping hot, homestyle meal that's a staple in any Chinese household?

This was a plate of diced chicken and mushroom chunks. Super simple base ingredients that, when tossed in some sesame oil, soy sauce and a dash of other classic seasonings, tasted pretty damn superb.

The set meal comes with plain white rice, a side of veggies (mmmm, how nutritious! #datfiberDOE), and a vat of lovingly boiled soup. Very hearty indeed, and it'll remind you of the dinners Grandma used to whip up!

My mum ordered the 梅菜扣肉 (pork belly in preserved vegetables) equivalent, and check out how ridonkulously FATTY the meat was! Jeezus.

It's like 96% jelly fats lmao. I CAN'T.

But the preserved veggies were super fragrant tho! So was the pork belly, or at least the lean bits which I'd dare to actually ingest lol.

Ahh, yes. It is my dream, too, to "satisfy 100". Just by being my dainty self! huehuehuehue

For dessert, we had this towering glory of an egg waffle:

Piped with fresh cream (the light and delicately sweet kind, not the "heavy" and cloying variety that tastes like OIL. bleugh) and jammed with oreo biscuits, maltesers, and 黑白配 (my fucking childhood LOVE, i tell u) chocolate wafers. Good shit, y'all. That was some gooood shiet.

We also went to a quaint lil bakery afterwards!

Their cheese tarts were pretty bomb. And cheap, too! 3.5 yuan is like, fucking 70 Singapore cents?? Jesus christ. Local cheese tarts are like $2++ a pop, MINIMUM.

Ham and cheese sammich~~

But with french toast instead of just plain bread! Oooooh, fancy~

THIS right here, is the ultimate way of reducing food wastage lol. Carbs are freaking delicious, man. Why throw 'em away? I'll admit that I cut the crusts off mah bread but toasted to crunchy caramelised flavour and aroma? I'm sure they'd make a nifty snack!
